Markham Concert Band
The Band will be performing their 31st concert season. You can expect an extra special variety of music, contemporary pieces, marches, show tunes, light classics and, occasionally, a little jazz - the kind of music that appeals to any audience. Special guest performers are featured at many of the concerts.
The Markham Concert Band was formed in 1978, and with over 65 members, it is one of the largest community bands in Canada! Band members include young and old from many fields of endeavour. All brought together with one purpose in mind - to serve the community with the best in concert band music.
fortysomething
fortysomething's Alan Kennedy and Harry James have been working on their harmonies since they met in high school, almost 30 years ago.

From gigs in local coffee shops to opening for Brian Roman at Roy Thompson Hall, fortysomething's reputation for recreating the sensibilities of the Everly Brothers, the Beatles and a great sound of their own, has a growing contingent of fans who show up anywhere the lads end up playing. "Their sound is so right, you can't help but come away feeling great."
The Marion Drexler Band
Rhythm and Blues, Blues, Rock, Pop, Country and Gospel influences abound. They always have a lot of fun and encourage their audiences to get in on it
Thornhill Community Band
The membership of the Thornhill Community Band is of all ages and represents a cross-section of residents of not only Thornhill, but of Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, North York and other areas in the Greater Toronto Area. The Band plays a wide variety of music, ranging from classical to big band, marches, Broadway and popular pieces.
Project Phoenix

Project Phoenix is Toronto's premier dance, funk and R&B band, honouring the greats of old school dance and funk, balanced with funky contemporary grooves. They deliver a show that will flood your senses with a fullness that only a ten piece band can. Funky rhythms, tight horns and powerful vocals drive the desire to party.

New to the Festival this Year
King of Nothing

King of Nothing plays an eclectic mix of ‘cool soulful pop music’, based on a repertoire spanning several decades and including recognizable (but not overplayed) songs. The band’s unique sound is based on distinct lead vocals, rich harmonies, a groove-oriented rhythm section, and dynamic and colorful sax, guitar and piano leads.
Broken Bricks
Broken Bricks is a young four piece band based out of Toronto. They are an exceptionally unique brand of young talent touching on 1960's garage to psychadelia, to folk music to blues and punk. It is their live show, however, that continues to create a buzz and gain the band a following. Their sound is raw, their show is high energy, their stage attire is decorated and exciting and their musicianship is exact.
The Groove Suit
The Groove Suit is a Toronto-based funk band that blends Rock & Roll and R&B/Soul music with P-Funk bass, Rap/Hip-Hop drums, Heavy Metal guitar, Afro-beat horns, Electro-house-music keyboards and everything in between... including the dreaded "Jazz" (a.k.a. the devil's music)
